The main argument against sex on a first date is that that such an act may be only a one night stand and nothing more. Is that true? Probably yes, because if person tries to drag you to bed so soon he probably sees you only as a sex object not as a personality. There are safety issues too. You do not know the person and have no idea whether it’s a first time for him like that or he does it every night. Make sure you use a condom.

Another argument against is that rushing into sex takes away the romance. For some people it is much better to build up the passion and be sure that he or she wants you as a personality, not as a sex object.

On the other hand why not doing it? If you feel that you may trust the person and feel a great attraction to him or her – go for it. Having unrealistic expectations is not very good, but don’t feel bad about it. If you feel that you are doing a right thing and won’t be sorry if things won’t work out sex on a first date may be a great experience for you.

However, if you think that if you won’t sleep with him or her you won’t see the person again – you shouldn’t do it. Sex is not a way out in such case. There is a group of people which define partners on the standards of what you do early in the relationship. So having sex on a first date will definitely get those away.

The situation is rather different if you have been communicating with a person via email or internet and you already know something about him or her. Although it’s technically the first date, you have already spoken to the person and know him a bit, so if you want to do it – go ahead.

If you're having a great evening, feel safe and fancy the hell out of each other – go for it. All you have to do is be sincere to your self. Decide whether you really want it, will you feel calm and don’t be sorry for yourself. Don’t have sex on a first date only because your date wants to. Sex won’t guarantee you that you will see him or her again; it’ll only make you feel sorry for yourself.
