Protecting yourself against false Russian brides
The main aim of this article is not protecting you from ALL brides from Russia (in this article we will use this country's name for all post-Soviet countries because not everybody is able to see a big difference). As you may already know, there are a lot of so-called "scammersâ?, who use some people's desires for having a great Russian bride for stealing their money. Although this technique is really simple and primitive, by using a good knowledge of human's psychics it can bring a lot of benefits to different criminals.
As the statistics show us, almost 100% of single men from U.S. visit various Internet dating portals regularly. Some of them are fed up with their drab lives and want to find someone brand new, who would help them to change their lives. Russian brides seem to be almost ideal way out, thanks to different stories (true or false, we will not discuss it here) and stereotypes. It is natural that the only realistic way out is searching for bride via the Internet.
Of course, criminals have no conscience about using this for creating money! They create a lot of false profiles, which include photos of young and beautiful Russian brides, their CVs and contacts (which are false too). There are many blacklists, which warn users about scammers and include false profiles, but they are not enough to destroy this threat. If you want to be protected from finding a false bride, who would simply steal your money and disappear, try searching for these list on the Internet.
One more advice: don't be confused if the girl you liked spells her name in different ways. This is not a sign of scamming, because Russian names can often be changed in various ways (for example, the name Tanya can be easily written as "Taniaâ? or "Tatianaâ?). This is not the method various swindlers use, so don't pay attention towards it.
If you feel suspicious and believe you are being scammed, you should never stop exchanging information with that person, but it is also strongly recommended to find out more about her. Feel free to use various sources, such as other brides' lists, blacklists and other services. If you notice something suspicious again, feel free to contact administrators of those Web services, which you used for finding that suspicious girl. DON'T write about your suspicions to her! If she is true, we doubt she will like it. In case that was a fake, it is very possible for you to receive infected letters or Spam.
All in all, we would like to say that no special protection against false Russian brides is necessary. Simply don't lose your head, think carefully and be familiar with blacklists (which, of course, don't cover ALL swindlers, but nevertheless are able to offer some real help) and other tools.
