It is a well-known fact, that many couples divorce after one of the partners finds out about his/her spouse's infidelity. In opinion of various psychiatrists, shouldn't automatically end in divorce, because there are many ways of saving your love and family. The only thing you should understand with your mind and heart is the following: it's a very popular phenomenon, when one partner suddenly starts looking for someone else, but in parallel with that he/she STILL loves you and doesn't want your family to be broken. Saving your marriage after one partner's affair is not an easy task; it requires a lot of patience, love and other efforts, but in case of success you will be rewarded with great benefits of the happy family.

First of all, the unfaithful partner should end this affair. That should be ended in all ways – he/she should break off ALL contacts with that third party. This means losing all phone numbers, addresses and other things like that.

Secondly, you and your spouse should discuss the reasons, which led to the infidelity. DON'T blame your partner for that, simply try finding out about your and his/her mistakes; remember these mistakes and try not making them in future.

The most important and, of course, difficult task is restoring trust. Make your spouse know where he/she can find you at every moment. Make it sure your partner will understand that you have nothing to hide and, in parallel with that, he/she will feel more trust towards you.

It would also be a good technique to list which traits of your partner's behavior you'd like to change. Even though it is almost completely impossible to change everything, there will always be several slight changes, which will help you to live together with your spouse happily.
