Another threat hits the Web: VirusHeat

While browsing the internet, many users do not suspect that their money and private information can be hijacked at any given time. However, the reality proves otherwise: malware and spyware parasites roam the Web freely, infecting PCs and Macs alike, and putting the users' data at severe risk.

In early February 2008, one such malware parasite hit the Net infiltrating and scamming computer systems en masse. It is called VirusHeat, and it's out there for a grab of your money. However, when armed with a solid malware knowledge base, most users may avoid being scammed by such threats. This is why we think you should know how this newest parasite works, so that you could arm youself with that knowledge.

What is VirusHeat?

VirusHeat is a rogue anti-spyware program that uses misleading advertising in order to seduce users into downloading and installing it. In some cases, VirusHeat may be downloaded by other malware, such as trojans or adware. This is standard rogue anti-spyware procedure, as trusted web resources do not host this trash.

Once inside, VirusHeat proceeds to harass users with its annoying pop-ups that tell you that you've been infected with spyware. If you click any of these, the parasite starts its falsified scan, which shows a grossly exaggerated error list, and all the errors there are made up. However, if you want to clean these imaginary threats, you must buy VirusHeat. Moreover, removing this program is not easy. For more information on how to remove VirusHeat, read these VirusHeat manual removal instructions.
